PORT ST. LUCIE — The city’s big acquisition last year appears to be stepping up to the plate with the New York Mets to take over the naming rights for Tradition Field.
Less than a month after Core Communities terminated its contract for the naming rights, the Mets have presented a contract to the county to grant Digital Domain Holdings Corp. the naming rights to the stadium, according to a county memo on Monday.
It’s unclear if Digital Domain will be followed by “park,” “stadium’ or ‘field.”
Mets Director of Florida Operations Paul Taglieri said the deal is not completed.
“We’re working on things, but nothing is final,” Taglieri said. “We are hoping to have things finalized shortly.”
